I’m back in Toronto after spending the last few days at WordCamp Dallas. I have to say that the conference was much more informative than I expected. I found the presenters and the tips they gave to be very intuitive and now I can better apply what I learned to my own blog. When speaking with the organizers and other participants at WordCamp, I mentioned that my company would be interested in hosting a WordCamp: Toronto. I was overwhelmed by the positive feedback from the other participants, which made me even more excited to get started on this project. I will start putting the word out and in a few months there very well could be a WordCamp in T.O.
Melissa,
I’m down for helping you organize a similar event in Toronto on one condition. Give me more details about your experience and what, in particular, you learned. I like trade tricks a lot.
Enjoying your blog.
Paul
Hey Paul,
I’m glad to hear you are just as excited about WordCamp as I am. We have just received the official green light to go ahead and start organizing the event and Centennial will be the main sponsor.
The weekend in Dallas was amazing, I met so many interesting people with great stories to tell, including the host of GeekProfile.tv and Matt Mullenweg the creator or WordPress, all of whom said they would be interested in coming to Toronto for a WordCamp.
I’m going to start spreading the word around, starting with Third Tuesday this week. Michael O’Connor Clarke said he would also like to get involved. Hopefully you will be there and we can talk more about it.
Melissa
